Vintage 1950's Half-Belt Horsehide Jacket American Sportswear Large
Up for sale is an absolutely gorgeous half-belt horsehide jacket from the 1950's. Jackets like this don't pop up too often, take it from me, I've been on the hunt for one for myself for a while. I'd keep this one in a heartbeat if it fit me!
Genuine American Leather Sportswear American Sportswear CO. Brigham City, Utah
Front Quarter Horsehide
This jacket has been very well maintained. The leather is in beautiful condition and the lining is nearly new looking. The only flaws to speak of are a small tear in the lining down by the right front hip (pictured), and a tiny gash in the leather on the back hidden beneath the shoulder gusset, it doesn't go through the leather, and it isn't at all visible.
The key features that make this jacket so iconic are Talon Zipper, the chain with loop chestpocket zipper pull, the diagonal hand warmer pockets, and the super cool side buckles (which makes this a traditional half-belt in leather jacket lingo)
This jacket is bound to become your new favorite piece of clothing. See measurements below:
Pit to pit: 22.5" Shoulders: 19.5" Shoulder to end of sleeve: 23" Length down center back from bottom of collar: 23" Waist: 22"
I recommend measuring a jacket of your own to compare measurements. This jacket is supposed to hit at or slightly below your belt *Thanks to my friend @almostvintagestyle for allowing me to capture a pic of him wearing the jacket.
