The original vat-dyed Indigo Leather Belt is now available with my Patent Pending Design, the Double Prong Quick Release Buckle.

The Double Prong Quick Release Buckle features the same quick release action that you're familiar with. Simply flick down on the lever and the belt will come undone. The tension keeps it buckled, and it will never come undone on it's own.

Handmade in England, the solid brass option is raw brass and will develop a striking patina over time. The rivets are solid brass hammered rivets, and are branded with "Pigeon Tree". The Nickel Plated Brass option will be secured with Nickel Chicago Screws.

The leather is 9-10oz Herman Oak Vegtan; one of the finest natural leathers around.

This particular belt has been hand dyed by myself with natural indigo, using traditional methods. I start with a natural veg tanned full grain leather belt, and dip dye it into a vat of natural indigo dye. After the first coat, the belt needs to oxidize, which is what turns the dye from a clear yellow/green, into the deep dark blue that we know and love. Finally, the belt goes through another two coats of dye.

*There will be variation in indigo tone; different leathers react differently with the indigo dye. The first picture would be the most accurate representation of color.

The result is gorgeous; the grain in the leather shows through the indigo dye, and the color has so many dimensions. This belt is sure to form a wonderful patina overtime. Be warned that because this is natural indigo, though rinsed and treated, it will likely "crock" a bit (the indigo will rub off slightly), this is the nature of indigo, and it's why jeans fade over time. I recommend wearing with blue denim, and avoiding white shirts for several wears or perhaps even all together. Anyone who is familiar with raw denim will know what to expect.

Recommended care is to minimize direct sun exposure and treat frequently with Smith's Leather Balm or a similar wax based leather dressing.

Available in either Single or Double Prong configurations, as well as Solid Brass or Nickel Plated Brass finishes.

To order this belt, please measure one of your old belts using the diagram pictured above. The system that I use is the most accurate method of measurement, and involves measuring from the end of the buckle prong, to the hole that fits you best (this method accounts for any difference in length between your buckle and mine). You can add your measurement in the measurement section above, or you can shoot me a message thereafter. Allow 2 weeks for completion.

Double Prong Buckle inventory is limited! *Natural double prong belt pictured to display the buckle.
