Numbered Limited Edition 1.5" Brown Tärnsjö Belt with Indigo Sashiko Stitching
The fourth numbered and limited edition belt release is one of the most special belts I've released yet. Crafted from my current favorite leather, the beautiful brown 9-10 oz vegtable tanned Tärnsjö, and paired with a Japanese brass buckle and keeper. This buckle is the heftiest that I have ever handled, it has such beautiful lines to it, but the thickness makes it very rugged.
To make this belt extra special, I've stitched the hardware on with my signature two-tone double row thread technique, but this time around, I not only used brown ritza tiger thread, but also my hand dyed and waxed indigo linen thread. I wouldn't use indigo thread to secure a belt normally, due to the durability of linen, but coupled with the ritza tiger thread, this buckle is not going anywhere. You have the strength of ritza tiger thread, with the patina of the indigo thread.
Further securing the exclusiveness of this belt is the indigo Sashiko detail at the tail end of the belt. Using the same hand dyed and waxed indigo linen thread, I create a Sashiko pattern which will be very fun to watch fade; as the leather darkens from light to dark brown, the dark indigo thread will fade lighter. The leather and the thread will essentially trade places, much like the indigo stitched cuff that I offer.
This belt release is limited to only 20 pieces. Each belt is numbered (e.g. 1/20) and the Sashiko pattern on each belt will be different, with no two belts being identical.
Current work queue is ~2 months, so you can expect your belt to be completed around September.
To order this belt, please measure one of your old belts using the pictured diagram. The system that I use is the most accurate method of measurement, and involves measuring from the end of the buckle prong, to the hole that fits you best (this method accounts for any difference in length between your buckle and mine). You can add your measurement in the measurement section above, or you can shoot me a message thereafter.
