I am so proud to introduce the beautiful work of my partner, Cara Mangum. Hoof & Heel brings something so refreshing to the fashion table in her hand stitched Sashiko inspired leather goods, which have been created to adorn the handsome human and provide you with another avenue of individual expression. Hoof & Heel specializes in hand stitched boot straps, but you can expect to see a lot more accessories to be developed over time, as well as the odd collaborative effort such as this one of a kind belt.
The "Trailhead" stitch pattern instantly stood out as my own personal favorite of Cara's offerings, right then and there I knew that it had to be a belt. Meticulously patterned and hand stitched, this one of a kind belt is sized to approximately 36" according to the Pigeon Tree sizing diagram, which would be best fitting for folks between a 32 and 34" waist.
At just a few mm shy of 1.5", this belt falls into a very appealing width somewhere between 1.25" and 1.5".
This 10oz Natural Horween CXL has a gorgeous visible grain and is known for it's immense aging potential. The leather will develop a very handsome patina with wear, as will the solid Japanese raw brass garrison buckle that I've paired it with.
The solid brass Japanese Garrison buckle is secured with hand-stitched ritza tiger thread in havana brown.
Please measure one of your old belts using the diagram pictured above. The system that I use is the most accurate method of measurement, and involves measuring from the end of the buckle prong, to the hole that fits you best (this method accounts for any difference in length between your buckle and mine).
Chromexcel is notoriously stretchy, so the belt will arrive smaller than the aforementioned measurement, but don't worry, the stretch was accounted for during the sizing process.
